Algunos jugadores de la Selección Argentina le dejaron mensajes a Julián Álvarez tras su coronación en el Mundial de Clubes con el Manchester City. Paulo Dybala le comentó con un emoji de aplausos, mientras que Leandro Paredes con símbolos de fuego. "Orgullo", expresó por su parte Enzo Fernández, quien es su gran amigo desde su época en River.
A sus 23 años, Julián Álvarez no solo está cumpliendo el sueño de la mayoría de amantes del fútbol, sino que también está cumpliendo el sueño de la mayoría de futbolistas. De hecho, con su nuevo título -el Mundial de Clubes- la Araña consiguió sumarse a una selecta lista, ahora integrada solo por tres nombres.
La nomina en cuestión, que ahora cuenta con el argentino, solo incluye a quienes ganaron la Copa Libertadores, la Champions League, el Mundial de Selecciones y el Mundial de Clubes. O sea, incluye a Julián Álvarez y dos leyendas brasileñas: Dida y Cafú.
El exarquero ganó el Mundial 2002, la Libertadores 1997 con Cruzeiro, los Mundiales de Clubes 2000 y 2007 (con Corinthians y Milan), y las Champions 2003 y 2007 con el cuadro italiano.
En cambio, el ex lateral derecho ganó dos Mundiales (1994 y 2002), dos Libertadores con San Pablo (1992 y 1993 y en 2007 metió el doblete Champions-Mundial con Milan.
